Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, and how long it is kept.

Who this covers
Fiction Factory Workshops runs this website. Cynthia Barbera is responsible for the information sent through it. Questions about anything on this page go to cindybarbera@comcast.net.
What is collected
Only what you type into a form. There are two forms on this website and neither of them is optional reading:
- The author visit request form. Your name and role, the school name, district and address, your email and phone, the grade levels and student numbers involved, the dates you are considering, and how the school expects to pay.
- The contact form. Your name, email, phone if you give it, and your message.
The submission also records the date and time, and technical details sent by your browser, which exist so that automated spam can be told apart from a real school.
What is not collected
- No payment details. There is no cart, no checkout and no card form anywhere on this website.
- No student names or student work. Nothing about an individual child is collected through this site.
- No advertising or tracking profiles are built from your visit.
Why it is collected
To answer your enquiry, check a date, prepare a written quotation, issue an invoice, and run the visit itself. That is the whole purpose. The information is not used for anything else.
Who sees it
Cynthia Barbera. Information is not sold, rented or passed to anyone else for their own purposes. The only exceptions are the ordinary suppliers who keep the website and email running, and any disclosure required by law.
Automatic messages
Sending the request form triggers one automatic acknowledgement to the address you gave. That is the only message this website sends on its own. Everything after it is written and sent by a person.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept while they are still live and are then removed. Records connected to a booking are kept for as long as the financial records require, because a school invoice is a business record.
Cookies
This website sets one session cookie. It exists to keep a form secure between the moment you open it and the moment you send it. It carries no personal information and is not used to track you between visits. No advertising or analytics cookies are set.
Your choices
You can ask what has been recorded about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal reason to keep it. Email cindybarbera@comcast.net and say what you would like done.
Children
This website is written for the adults who arrange a school visit, not for students. Please do not send student information through these forms. Anything needed about the students taking part is agreed directly with the school after a booking is confirmed.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
