Questions schools ask
Every answer here is something already published or already agreed. If a question is not answered yet, it is because the answer is not settled, and a half answer on a procurement page is worse than none.
The programme
Up to ten per workshop. The cap is the point of the format: at ten, every student reads their work out loud and gets a response before the session ends.
Middle school students. The assembly is built for a whole school audience, and the workshops are built for small groups drawn from it.
A school-wide session built around Secrets from the Sky and the idea behind it. Students hear where a story comes from before anyone asks them to write one.
A Young Author Certificate and the piece of writing they produced during the workshop.
Packages and cost
A half-day visit with one workshop is $500. A half-day visit with two workshops is $650. Both include the school-wide assembly and Young Author Certificates for every participant.
Yes. Each extra workshop is $150, and any combination of assembly and student workshops can be arranged.
No. There is no checkout, no cart and no card payment anywhere on this site. A request is a request, not a purchase.
Booking and paperwork
Send the request form with your dates, grade levels and expected numbers. A date is agreed first, then a written quotation, then an invoice. Nothing is confirmed until you have it in writing.
Yes. Once a date and a package are agreed, the booking is invoiced so your district can process it the way it processes any other outside vendor.
Choose "not sure yet" on the request form. The quotation can be built around whatever combination suits your timetable.
Something not covered here? Put it in the message box on the request form, or email it. Questions that come up more than once end up on this page.
Bring an author to your school
